Danes have become too careless, too touchy and too lenient when it comes to handling corona recommendations. A Megafon survey shows that three out of four Danes – or 77 percent – mostly agree or strongly agree that those they meet have started to relax elements such as physical distance, hand hygiene and avoiding hugs and handshakes. But is it really that bad, and if so, why have we started not caring about the coronavirus that shut down the country in mid-March?
Pelle Guldborg Hansen explains:
“Danes are currently hearing a narrative that we are relaxing our behavior. But we’re not necessarily doing that on all fronts. But we talk about it in the media, and then the Danes experience that this is their reality, even though it may be different.”
